Coming Back
44 days to feel calmer, less alone, and more like yourself abroad
For the woman who is functioning on the outside, but inside feels tired, disconnected, and quietly wondering where the woman she used to be went.
This is for you if...
You wake up and the first thought is: another day like this?
Not outright bad. Just grey. The version of you that used to feel curious, alive, excited about things? She’s still in there. But she’s gone quiet. And the longer she stays quiet, the more you wonder if she’s coming back at all.
Maybe you’ve been abroad for a while now. Maybe you’re functioning fine by most measures. But something is missing, and you can’t quite name it, and you’re tired of trying to explain it to people who just say “but you live abroad, isn’t that amazing?”
You don’t need someone to tell you to be more positive.
You need something that actually helps you find your way back to yourself.
What Coming Back is
Every day for 44 days, a short voice note lands directly on your phone via Telegram. Some days it’s a grounding practice. Some days a reflection prompt. Some days just a reminder that what you’re feeling makes sense and that you are not alone in it.
Always under 15 minutes. Always something you can return to.
No live calls to show up for. No pressure. Just a daily thread back to yourself, wherever you are.
Who is guiding you
My name is Franziska, I know first-hand what it feels like to build a life abroad and somewhere along the way, feel less like yourself.
I’ve uprooted my life for love, lived across cultures, and spent more than two decades navigating the quiet identity shifts that can come with living abroad. I hit my own rock bottom – identity loss, a failed job search, a near-divorce, a health breakdown. I know what it feels like to be the woman who looks fine from the outside and is quietly falling apart on the inside.
What brought me back wasn’t positivity or pushing harder. It was learning to regulate, reconnect and rebuild – from the inside out.
Today, I guide other internationals through that same journey. With calm structure, real compassion, and deep respect for the pace real change requires.
This isn’t about fixing yourself. It’s about finding your way back to yourself. Gently, honestly, and with support.
Come home to yourself, wherever you are.
What changes over 44 days
You won’t be transformed. You’ll be on your way. And that difference is everything.
By day 44, you won’t have everything figured out. But you will notice:
- Mornings feel a little lighter and there’s something small to look forward to
- You feel calmer in your body, and more balanced emotionally
- You start remembering what actually lights you up: not who you were before, but who you’re becoming here
- The first real sense of hope that this life abroad can be yours, not just something you’re enduring
- A quiet inner knowing that you have what it takes to create something meaningful where you are
Why this is different
Most advice for internationals focuses on what you should do on the outside. Meet more people, get out more, stay busy, stay positive.
And while those things can help, they often miss what’s happening underneath.
Because when you move abroad, it’s not just your surroundings that change. Your sense of familiarity changes. Your confidence wobbles. And your connection to yourself – the quiet, steady version of you that knows what she wants and what she feels – can start to fade without you even noticing.
Coming Back works from the inside out. Not fixing you. Finding you.

The daily voice notes are delivered each morning, and you can listen to them at your own time. There’s no live attendance required, and you have full flexibility in a busy life.
This is for you. The length of time doesn’t matter. The feeling does.
Yes, completely. I remember a stretch where I wouldn’t even buy myself new clothes, let alone anything more. But I kept noticing certain things, courses, programs I’d circle back to look at again without really knowing why. Just a quiet pull I couldn’t quite explain. Eventually I followed it on something small, a couple of Coursera courses, and it brought back energy I hadn’t felt in a long time. That’s what Coming Back can be too, the first small yes to whatever’s pulling you toward it, even before you can say exactly why.
